This is a list of the jobs required by the committee members/club members to ensure the smooth running of Welbeck Tennis Club. It is by no means all-inclusive.
Membership duties: collecting membership forms and fees and liaising with the treasurer.
Newsletter distribution (electronically)
Preparation of agenda for the committee meetings, AGM, EGM, etc.
Taking minutes and distributing them to the committee members and notice board.
Liaison with the LTA (Nottingham), S&D league re: teams and attending fixture meetings.
Entering teams in the S&D leagues and paying fees.
Organising and advertising the open day.
Purchase of balls for play and matches
Light card distribution
Keep court booking book up to date.
Ensuring the insurance policy is up to date
Ensuring first aid equipment is present and up to date.
Applying for and organisation/distribution/payment of Wimbledon tickets.
Collecting membership fees, match fees, other monies and banking them.
Keep the Club account books (income and expenses) up to date on a regular basis.
Prepare accounts in advance for the committee meetings and AGM.
Attend the committee meetings
Assist the Chair/Secretary/Treasurer with carrying out duties and tasks.
Organise upkeep of the pavilion and courts, including sweeping up of leaves in the autumn, clearing the snow off the courts in the winter.
Organise and participate in social events.
Organise awards night for the club events winners.
Organise tickets for the S&D awards night.
Organise the annual club tournament.
Keep the Welbeck Tennis Club website and Facebook page up to date where possible.
Picking players for matches.
Liaise with other team captains.
Organise match balls and refreshments, book courts, tidy and lock up clubhouse and courts for home matches.
Attend the committee meetings.
Organise and run the coaching sessions on Friday evenings for Juniors and Saturday mornings for Adults.
Liaise with and going into schools
Organise coaching sessions in school holidays and half terms.
Collection of fees and transfer to the treasurer.
Ensure DSB (Disclosure Service Barring) and coaching checks are done and up to date.
