The event at Sherwood Pines went really well yesterday with potential for two new family memberships. We had really nice feedback left on our Twitter account. Matthew M came to assist us (Mark Deavin and Vincent McGrath) and he was brilliant with the kids, arranged a timed obstacle course which they loved. Great effort was put into the events. We wish to thank you Matthew, Mark, Vincent and Jackie for your efforts.

2nd June 2015

Our Open Day last Sunday was a great success. Thank you to everybody who came (50+ members and non-members we think). Activities included having a go on the ball machine, serving for the speed radar gun, wetting the coaches, mini fun tournament, etc.

Thank you very much for the many donations (the Wimbledon gear was simply 'wow'!). The support was unbelievably wonderful. The Welbeck Tennis Club Committee warmly gives their thanks and gratitude to everybody.

We are adding photos from the recent Open Day to the gallery. If you have any, please send to us, so that we can add them here.

Do you have unwanted gifts at home? We have our Welbeck Tennis Club Open Day on 31st May 2015 at 14:00. Please do not hesitate to contact one of us to donate your unwanted gifts and items. We need to raise as much funds as we can. We have plans to resurface one of our tennis courts which we anticipate to be costly. We have a few fun filled activities planned for the day - testing of your serve speed, wet the coach, hook a duck, possibly a fun tournament if there are enough of us, etc. You can bring your unwanted gifts/items on the day.

Please contact us if you have any queries. We look forward to seeing you there.

Bank transfers for payment of membership

If you do a bank transfer into the Welbeck tennis club's bank account, we wish to thank you as this is our most preferred method of payment. However, please fill in a membership form and notify on the form that you have done a bank transfer. Email the completed form to Reece Simpson, Treasurer at

Lately, there have been a few bank transfers and I do not know who they are for, particularly the new members and we cannot look back on the old databases to try find out who they are.

For every new membership and every renewal, the membership form must be filled in for every year.

Thank you.

EMAIL SENT to club members

Hello everyone

It has been unanimously decided to change the locks. It has been agreed to use ordinary key padlocks. The reasons are as follows:
  • two of the three current padlocks are deemed ‘faulty’ as they have been tampered with. One of those two locks’ combination has been changed and no one knows the code for it.
  • it has been noted on a number of occasions that the locks have been left at **** i.e. not scrambled on departure.
We have purchased three new ordinary padlocks and a limited number of keys. It will cost £3 for a key (this is to cover the costs). The keys will be available to purchase from this Saturday morning of the 18th April at the club house (during team practice sessions). I will be available Monday evening (club night) and a few times in the week for anyone to purchase a key. We are hoping that every household will have one key.
We will change the locks sometime over the next week or two. We will do our very best to ensure everyone (the majority of members, at least) gets a key before the change of locks in order to minimise disruption of access to the courts.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the committee, should you have any queries.
